Half a Wayne is better than no Wayne at all!
(Okay,...so I'm not a great photographer.) The Peace Auto Electric staff are smiling pretty here!!

Wayne, Carol & Barb (left side, front to back)
Diane, Eleanor, James & Randy (right side, front to back)

The folks at Peace Auto Electric chose to celebrate their Christmas party at the Crown! Hey guys,...it was nice to meet you all!!

Dylan, Jeff, Dawn & Dave

...And a good time was had by all! Jeff and Dave hadn't seen each other for about 20 years. Good friends/good times seem to go "hand in hand" at the Crown & Anchor.

"Making rather Merry"!

I've said it before and I'll say it again,..."some of the best times happen around the piano bar"!!

Melissa & Jennifer

Stylish,...eh wot? These ladies really knew how to stand out in the crowd with their "fabulous sense of fashion"!!

Jordan & Farron (back) Diane & Keli (front)

It was a difficult day for these ladies, but I'm glad they were able to "brave it out" and find some time for themselves at the Crown & Anchor!

Larry, Sharon, Jeff, Ashlee & Jarret

Friends make it all worthwhile! I've known Larry for over 30 years, and he's always had grey hair...he looks as good as ever!! (...Sharon you haven't changed a bit, still the lovely lady I remember.)

Larry, Sharon, Jarret & Ashlee

Wow,...it's been like 7 years! Larry and his wife Sharon came out to Sherlock Holmes on Saturday to catch a few of my sets. I haven't seen these guys for AGES!
I used to work with Larry (he was a "sound tech") in a band called R.S.F. Rock Theatre. Jarret (Larry & Sharon's son) brought his lovely lady Ashlee (an accomplished pianist) along with him. It was great to see them all!!

Ashlee, Jen & Jen

These ladies were the "life of the party" at Sherlock Holmes Pub (West Edmonton Mall). They were singing along and dancing most of the night. In fact, they even came back on Saturday to celebrate Ashlee's birthday! It was good to meet you all!!

Group Hug!!

Some of the best times at the Crown & Anchor, happen around the piano bar.

Friends Forever!

I'm kicking myself for misplacing names...I know it's Chelsy on the right but I seem to have misplaced the other young lady's name. (I'm hoping one of them will drop me a note or leave a comment so I can remedy my negligence!)

Leanne, Anna, Jill, Melissa & Steve

This was the first time I'd met Jill. I guess she has worked "the Crown" for a while but only does the occasional night now and then.

"Arthur Murray School of Dance" grads??!

I don't know about dance grads, but it was just a matter of time before Brenda, Zorda, Jody, Gail and Donna managed to infiltrate the rest of the Crown & Anchor patrons and have everybody partying! (...sorry gents, I didn't get your names!!)

Brenda, Jody, Zorda, Gail, Jeff & Donna

I couldn't pass up the invitation to be in on the photo with these party-goers!!

Brenda, Jody, Zorda, Gail & Donna
(Girls just wanna have fun!)

Once these lovely ladies showed up at the Crown Anchor the party really got going!

Leanne, Anna, Melissa & Steve

After a hard day at work...no better place for a cold drink than at work. Here's some of the Crown & Anchor staff enjoying some leisure time. It was good to finally get a "pic" of Leanne and Anna....and nice to meet Melissa's beau, Steve. Steve is a salesman at GP Mazda in Grande Prairie. (...who knows, if you tell him you saw his photo on my website he might even give you a better deal on your next car?!)

Tony, Sean & Paul

Three musketeers (or three stooges?)...either way, it was good to see Paul again. He used to work here at the Crown & Anchor and he brought his room-mate and his "supervisor" out for a nite of merriment!

John, Yvonne & Derrick

Yvonne and her son Derrick were out to enjoy an evening with their friend John.
Yvonne seemed to know most of the words to the songs I was playing,...and then she purchased one of my CD's. Good to meet you all!

Dawn & Val
(Good friends from way back!)

(Is there a town named Wayback?...) Dawn and Val have been good friends for a long time and I'm glad they chose they Crown & Anchor in Grande Prairie to celebrate their re-union!
Val was visiting from Whitecourt, Alberta.

Ivan, Sarah, Gwen & Jim

Sarah wasn't around for the first "pic" but we managed to locate and include her in this one! (...and hey guys, thanks for purchasing my CD & supporting my music!!)

Ivan, Gwen & Jim

Here's some new friends I made at the Crown & Anchor.

Michelle, Anne & Gladys

Anne & Gladys came back for a second night and brought Michelle with them. It turns out that Michelle is Anne's daughter. (hey, I thought they were all sisters!)
Three of the nicest people you could ever meet!! I Look forward to seeing you all next time I'm in Fort McMurray.

Keith, Jolene & Paddy

Jolene was getting lots of attention from these two characters! She is one of the great servers at the Black Horse Pub & is also an outstanding vocalist. What's more,...she competed in Canadian Idol, and made it to the top 100!
Jolene "came up" and sang "Something to Talk About" (written by Shirley Eckhart, covered by Bonnie Raitt) and did a fabulous job of the song!!

Angie, Jeff, Anne & Gladys

We had a bit of a time convincing Angie to stay in the photo, but I'm glad she did!
I had a good time talking to Gladys & Anne for much of the night (Angie had to get back to her buddies).

Jeff, Amanda, Paddy & Keith

It was Paddy's birthday and we were all ready to have fun! (...actually I think Paddy's name is Michel, but he makes for a good Paddy!) Afterward Paddy got up and sang a C.C.R. tune with me,...and he did a great job, too!!

Keith, Angie, Anne, Gladys & Jeff

(Keith likes to get in on the party!) I met these lovely ladies while playing at the Black Horse Pub in Fort McMurray!

Janice's Going Away Party!

That's Janice in the middle wearing the white jacket. A whole bunch of her good friends, (some of them "former staff" from the Crown & Anchor) came out to give her a proper send-off. Hope all goes well for you in Penticton, Janice!!

Joanne, David, Jaynee & Mike

Hey Jaynee & Mike, thanks for a great supper.
Joanne...it was great to see you again, and nice to meet you David! When you've got friends and family in the audience it's like being right at home.

Julie, Tammy, Chiquita (back), Shanee, Amber & Sheridan

Here's more of the staff from the Crown & Anchor. Some were "off" for the night, some of them were done their shift & the rest were still "plugging away".

Shane & his lovely lady Andrea

These two recently moved from Edson, Alberta to Grande Prairie. It was great to meet them at the "Crown". After chatting with them, I found out they also used to live in Calgary and were familiar with some of the clubs I used to perform at "down south".

They also purchased one of my CD's (that's what Andrea is holding). Hey guys,...thanks for supporting Alberta original music!

(Unknown dude), Tanya, Daneille, Colleen, Justin, Jason (& unknown dude holding a beer)

Sorry about the missed names!
"The Twins" Justin & Jason were out celebrating their birthday....hey careful guys, that's Colleen getting "squashed" on!!

Nate & April

These two knew each other back home in the maritimes, but have become "romantically entwined" since they moved to Grande Prairie. As the saying goes, "sometimes you travel a thousand miles to find that which is in your own backyard"!
Nate is a foreman at Totem Lumber and April is a Nanny who plans on taking over the "Nanny 911" show real soon!!

I've chatted with Nate a few times at the Crown and since purchasing my CD he's been very supportive of my music.

Jeff, Shanee, Chiquita, Amber, Julie & Sheridan

Here I am "yakking & yuk-yukking" with the staff at the Crown and Anchor! I always feel like I'm with family when I perform at this fabulous pub!!

Gloria, Bob, Jodie & Marcie

It was a quiet night at the "Crown" but these folks help make it a good night!
Gloria is a newcomer to Grande Prairie, (she's originally from Manning) but she seems to like her new home!!

Jeff, Jimmy, Paul & Mark

Some new musician friends I made after the golf tourney!
Jimmy is a percussionist (& also played the spoons with me for half the night) Paul is a horn player and Mark is a guitarist. Sounds like we've got the ingredients for a great jam nite

Mark, Emila, Ray, Barry, Louise & Jason

Sorry about the head crop, Mark. (Next time I'll take a better photo of you!!)

Louise was back out to the pub and this time brought along a whole "school of fish". (As it turns out I guess Ray is actually quite the "fisherman", and has the website to prove it!)

Paul, Cara, Unknown Sailor & Mark

It was the 10th Annual NIGEL CARNELL Memorial Golf Tourney @ the Crown & Anchor on Saturday, September 22nd, 2007.
Nigel must have been a great fellow, because so many people showed up to pay their respects!
(I don't know the "gent" in the background, he just kind of "sailed in" with a big smile on his face as I was clicking the picture,...the more the merrier, eh?!)

Andrew, Dawn & Jeff

Hey, I didn't realise that Andrew & Dawn knew Jeff....but, they all showed up at the Crown & Anchor.
Andrew & Dawn originally met each other here at the "Crown" and were married right in the pub. Andrew is a salesman for Pepsi (he gets up pretty early in the morning for work, so I'm surprised he stays so late). Dawn is a school counsellor and I'm told she really loves working with the kids!

Trudi & Larry

My new friends! These two were the "guest hosts" at the Girouxville Inn while their relatives (regular hosts, Marie & Cheryl) were off on a much needed holiday.
Nowadays, Trudi and Larry spend much of their time cruising around Arizona in their motor home.

Dan & Rosanne

These "folks" were out for the night celebrating their anniversary. (The anniversary of the last time they were out?!) Anyway, it was great to meet both of them.

Danny, Alain & Martin

Danny and his Dad, Alain visited the Girouxville Inn on "both nights" for some tunes & a cold one (or two!). Martin and Danny work together in the oilfield, as spray painters. Alain is a mechanic with Fountain Tire in Falher.

Danny, Alain, Lynda, Crystal, Duke, Lise & Noel

Salut!
This crew was ready to "party on"! Here's a "moment in time" with some great folks I met at the Girouxville Inn. ( I'll have to work on improving my French for the next time I see my buddies.) Lise was celebrating her birthday a week early, but she and her "hubby" Duke and hard working folks who needed a night on the town!
Lynda works here at the Inn, but she and her husband Alain needed a night off too!

Tara, Jackie & Jill

Our "fall" Tai Chi classes will be starting up soon. Here are three great "players" from our intermediate/advanced class (taken before our summer break). Tara juggles being a mom with her work as a paramedic. (Not sure how she finds time for tai chi, thankfully she has a supportive hubby to "share in the child care".)

Jackie loves her work as an office administrator (and a very articulate one I might add!) and Jill has a framing business (with her husband Henry) called "FrameWorks". (They do outstanding work!).

Carol, Lynn, Jeff, Sue & Micheline,

Here's a few of the participants from our "beginner" Tai Chi class. Carol and Lynn both came back for a "refresher", but Sue & Micheline were first timers. They did their homework and stayed on top of things by practising together whenever they could.
(The two of them were always laughing and cracking jokes which made for an entertaining class!!)

John & Heather

Here's a couple of friends I sat with at a wedding reception in Calgary.
Al & Wendy (not in this photo) got married in Nova Scotia but held a reception in Calgary on September 2/07.
John is a musician, and his friend Heather works in a furniture store (She keeps track of all the inventory). All night long,...everyone at the table was admiring Heather's beautiful hair!

Joanne, Bridget, Jodie & Dwayne

I thought I'd lost this photo from the Grimshaw Hotel...but it's all good! Joanne, Bridget & Jodie are all servers at the hotel.

Dwayne is a cook (currently working for KFC)who has worked in some very "posh" restaurants. I like his attitude. When I introduced myself he said, "There are no strangers in life,...just friends we haven't met yet".

Sheridan, Melissa, Adam & Paul (squatting)

More of the fine staff at the Crown & Anchor. (I finally got a "pic" of Sheridan!) Adam was doing his "ROBO-COP" impression here as he puts the finger on Paul.

Paul will have made a career change by the time this photo is posted. He promised me he'd be back in for a "cold one" next time I'm playing in Grande Prairie!

Me & my new friend, Alicia

Alicia has only been in Grande Prairie for a few months. She's originally from the maritimes and I know she misses all her friends & family back home. To get into the spirit of things, she came up and sang a song with me, and did a good job too!!

Yvan & Sue

Sue hardly sat in one place for more than a few minutes...she was up dancing to almost every song at the Crown & Anchor. Yvan even got up once or twice to "groove" along!

Paul, Kristy, Tammy, Adam, Melissa

Five fantastic smiles... five "fabulous staff" members. I was lucky to be able to catch so many of the Crown & Anchor staff in one photo!
When I'm playing in Grande Prairie, I have a song that each of them likes to hear. It's just my way of thanking them for the great service they offer!!
